*I adjusted some kiddos' AR points so they can reach higher in their AR accomplishments. This second period goes from Sept. 25-Nov. 9th.

Monday is Library & PE, Tues and Fri are Science, every other Wed is buddies, & Thurs is our hike to the redwood grove or creek.

OUR SACRAMENTO TRIP IS ON! It will be Thursday April 12th overnight to Friday April 13th. We will be sending home an intro letter that needs to be filled out and returned by Sept. 28th, letting us know your plans and your needs. A behavior contract has also been sent home that needs to be filled out and signed by both student and parent. This is an amazing trip. It's like 6 field trips all rolled into one overnight extravaganza with a layered and dynamic focus on CA History, our 4th grade social studies standards. We need chaperones who can be with us for two busy and fun filled days.

Thanks for all the donations. We appreciate your kindness. We have received: wipes, glue, markers, expo pens, highlighters,

Kleenex and more.

Fridays there is no homework. Continue to read and do random acts of kindness.

WELCOME TO YOUR 4TH GRADE EXPERIENCE! I am honored to be your educator for the 2017-18 school year. We have a new principal, our own Caryn Lane. We are elated to have her as our fearless and visionary leader.

WE WILL BE KNITTING HATS THIS YEAR TO DONATE TO LOVELY ORGANIZATIONS LOCALLY.

WE GAVE OUR FIRST 21 KNITTED HATS TO GREY BEARS TO SELL IN THEIR THRIFT STORE TO RAISE $ FOR THEIR AMAZING SENIORS NUTRITION PROGRAM THAT FEEDS 4,400 SENIORS EACH WEEK, THEIR COMPOSTING PROGRAM THAT RESULTS IN $5 BAGS OF COMPOST, THEIR MELTING PLASTIC AND METAL TO MAKE NEW PRODUCTS,  AND THEIR EWASTE PROGRAM.

*THANK YOU TO TANIYA, SHELLY, AND DAWN FOR STEPPING UP AND VOLUNTEERING. Thanks to Amy and Kai and Shannon for volunteering as well. ALSO, THANKS TO IONA AND TANIYA FOR HELPING TO COORDINATE OUR SACRAMENTO TRIP. Your time is priceless to us. Let me know how you would like to be involved.

IF YOU FEEL LIKE DONATING, WE NEED:  YARN, LOOMS, KNITTING HOOKS, NEEDLES, LARGE ZIPLOCKS, GLUE, KLEENEX, WIPES, MARKERS, & SHOE BOXES...

IN THE END, ONLY KINDNESS MATTERS...
