The Valencia Home and School Club (H&SC) is the school’s official parent-teacher organization, comprised of parents, teachers, and the school principal. All families and faculty are welcome to participate. H&SC funding decisions are made by the Executive Board.
If you wish to participate on the Board, or wish to present ideas, please attend our monthly meeting or contact the H&SC President at email@example.com or a specific Chairperson.
Why Should I Get Involved?
California has one of the lowest spending rates per pupil in the nation. In the face of drastically shrinking state and local funding, parent involvement in our schools is essential. By helping out with the Home and School Club (H&SC) you will be reinforcing your commitment to support and enrich the educational experience of your child and all children in our community. The beginning of the school year is an ideal time to review our many volunteer opportunities, and choose how you’d like to help.
If you are interested in helping out on the H&SC Board, visit our website for a description of the many roles available at www.homeandschoolclub.org
When does the H&SC meet?
For the school year 2014-15, the H&SC meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month, unless there is a school event that day from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the school library. Babysitting is not provided. The president of the H&SC presides over these meetings. The principal, two teacher representatives, and H&SC Board members attend and report on school and district news. Please come and stay informed, ask questions, and get involved!
