Second Grade Team
In second grade, students at Valencia Elementary are challenged to build greater independence in the curriculum, social skill development, and the use of technology. Fluency is a big focus for us- whether it is in number facts, with reading, or in writing. Students are expanding and building on the academic skills learned in first grade, and beginning to start problem solving and thinking critically.
Second grade is also the launching board for building independent and interdependent learners. We work collaboratively as a team to help foster independent learners that are prepared for the academic challenges of third grade and above, and can work collaboratively and cooperatively with others.
