Valencia Elementary School

In sixth grade, students and teachers work together to prepare for the transition to Junior High School.  Students rotate between different teachers in the afternoon, attending classes in art, physical education, and writing, preparing for the different teachers that they will experience as seventh graders.  

 

In addition, sixth graders have the opportunity to participate in service teams that give back to the school community. They can participate in leadership, safety, or green service teams. Some sixth graders also choose to be tutors.  One of the highlights of the sixth grade year is the four-day trip to the Santa Cruz County Outdoor Science School located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Throughout the school year, students work towards Valencia’s core values of respect, responsibility, kindness, and best effort!
